MY JOURNEY:
Just a native NYC theater kid
Bonnie is grateful for her non conventional artistic upbringing. As a child, she was fortunate to grow up on sets, accompanying dad, an Emmy nominated stand-up comedian, actor and school bus driver, on the NYC scene. Bonnie spilled water in The Jon Stewart Show control room, watched dad tape David Letterman segments on location and stayed up late watching his inappropriate sets at the Comedy Cellar.
Bonnie was soon bitten by the performance bug too! She began auditioning and gigging around the city while training in all dance styles at BDC and Steps.
However, after Mom instructed her to attend Boston University on academic scholarship for a “real” career, she became an elementary teacher.
Bonnie would still sneak in performing, but after her father's unexpected passing, she was inspired to quit teaching full-time. Bonnie used her own savings to pivot her LaDucas back into the studio. She joined Jazz Roots Dance Company, assisting and training under Sue Samuels. The rest is still unwritten.
Fave NY theater and commercial credits include Matilda, dance assistant for Woman of the Year at Theater Row and Galen Hooks' Kind Eyes ad campaign. As an artist, Bonnie is known for her strong visual storytelling and musicality. As a collaborator, Bonnie is known for her dedication, discipline and strong work ethic.
Bonnie is a proud transracial and transnational adoptee. She enjoys travel, (she lived in Morocco!) meditation, nature with her husband and cockapoo and repping Queens. She also has a blossoming academic confidence coaching business specializatng in executive functioning and literacy.
